How often should I cut my lawn?
There's no set frequency to how often you should cut your lawn. Really, as often as it needs it, Ideally, no more than one third of the leaf height
Our schedule aims to maintain reasonable height throughout the year so you can maintain peace of mind all throughout the year
How do I maintain a thick and healthy lawn?
There are a number of things you can do to encourage a thick and healthy lawn, Regular Mowing in different directions, fertilisation, top dressing, weed control, clearing debris from sitting, sharp blades on your mower and not cutting too low
NB Mowing highly recommends using Coochie Hydrogreen for all lawn treatments
Do I have to cut my lawn so often?
Different growing conditions and varieties of grass will dictate how often you should cut your lawn if you want it to look great. If you don't care so much, you can leave it for longer but be sure not to cut too much off at once as weeds will likely emerge
How do I stop weeds growing in my lawn?
Weed control is quite simple, if you're okay with using selective herbicides, applications directly on the undesired weeds will prove effective but prevention in most cases is better than the cure so it is advised to apply preventative weed control every 6 months.
Many businesses offer lawn treatment plans for fertilisation, weed control and fungal/disease control. If you don't like using chemical, you've got a few options; Pull them by hand or suppress them by encouraging a thick lawn to smother everything else and cut higher, and more frequently
NB Mowing offers fixed rate price on Regular Mowing when performed in line with our schedule
Regular Mowing Service [RMS] consists of Edging, String Trimming, Lawn Mowing and Blowing down hard surfaces to tidy up.
NB Mowing assumes a green bin is available to dispose of the clippings collected while mowing
Mulching, while recycling your grass into nitrogen rich fertiliser, should only be done if mowing very regularly(Once a week/twice a week) or if only cutting less than 5mm from the lawn and minimal debris remain. Excessive Mulch debris can impact the health of the lawn, ideally you should not see any grass on the top of the lawn if mulched
If you're not fussed about perfect edges or cleanup, Rough Cuts is the choice for you
Rough Cut Mowing Service [RCMS] consists of String Trimming and Lawn Mowing using a mulch plug. This option is our cheapest and keeps the lawn down without breaking the bank
Mulching, while providing excellent fertiliser to the lawn, does leave debris on the lawn
This option does not include a blow down or edging along pathways/kerbs etc
